How SkyblueMC handles files, analytics, browser storage, and external services.

Last updated August 25, 2026

Privacy overview

SkyblueMC does not provide user accounts and does not ask visitors to upload Minecraft worlds to a SkyblueMC server. The website uses limited analytics and aggregate counters to understand usage and maintain the service.

This policy applies to skybluemcee.github.io. External websites reached through links have their own privacy practices.

Local file processing

Your Minecraft files stay on your device

The World Settings Editor opens, reads, modifies, and packages selected .mcworld files inside your browser. SkyblueMC does not receive the contents or filename of the world.

To keep a modified download available while a visitor completes the optional Linkvertise step, the browser may temporarily store that modified file in IndexedDB on the visitor's device. The editor treats it as expired after two hours. Visitors can remove it sooner by clearing site data.

Analytics and counters

Information processed when you visit

Cloudflare Web Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and website performance. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first analytics that does not collect or use visitors' personal data or track individuals across websites. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visitor counts, sessions, approximate location, referring sources, and browser or device information. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id> to distinguish visitors and sessions.

For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google Analytics is not loaded unless the visitor accepts analytics cookies. Outside those regions it may load by default. The current configuration disables Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals. Learn more in Google's privacy policy and Google's information for partner sites.

World Settings Editor counters

A Cloudflare Worker maintains aggregate visit and download totals for the editor. The application stores only the combined totals, not an individual browsing history. A session-storage marker prevents ordinary refreshes in the same tab from repeatedly increasing the visit counter.

Cookies and browser storage

What is stored in your browser

  • Analytics preference: local storage remembers whether an eligible visitor accepted or declined Google Analytics.
  • Region result: session storage temporarily remembers whether the analytics consent prompt applies. The site receives only a yes/no result, not the country code.
  • Visit-count marker: session storage remembers that the editor visit was counted in the current tab.
  • Pending modified world: IndexedDB may temporarily hold a locally generated download for up to two hours during the Linkvertise flow.
  • Google Analytics cookies: when Analytics is enabled, Google may set _ga cookies as described above.

You can clear cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Where the “Cookie choices” link appears in the footer, it can be used to revisit the Analytics decision.

External services

Links, hosting, and monetized downloads

  • GitHub Pages hosts the live website. GitHub may process ordinary web request and security data under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • Linkvertise is used for some monetized editor downloads. When you choose that download route, you leave SkyblueMC and Linkvertise applies its own privacy and cookie practices. Your Minecraft world file is not sent to Linkvertise. See the Linkvertise company and privacy information.
  • YouTube, GitHub, and recommended add-on sites receive information normally sent when you follow an external link. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Advertising

Google AdSense application and display advertising

The site contains Google AdSense code so Google can verify and review it. No display ads are active as of the date above. If the site is approved and advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Google's advertising cookies may be used to personalize ads based on a visitor's previous visits to this or other websites.

Visitors can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from publisher sites in Google's partner-sites information.

Before eligible advertising or advertising storage is enabled in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the site will use Google's certified consent-management platform. This policy will be updated if another advertising provider is activated.

Children's privacy

No accounts or intentional collection from children

The website provides general Minecraft tools and information. It does not offer accounts or knowingly request personal information from children. Visitors should not send passwords, school information, or other sensitive personal information by email or through public GitHub issues.

Your choices

Privacy requests and policy changes

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information processed by service providers. Because SkyblueMC does not create user profiles or accounts, it may not hold information that can be connected to you directly.
